Ferry On The Hooghly River: Tales of Smiles, Folk Songs, and Public Gatherings

Welcome aboard this lively journey as we delve into my recent escapade across the Hooghly River via ferry. From the mesmerising views to the infectious smiles of the ferry crew, and even some impromptu folk singing, this experience was nothing short of delightful and get ready for a rib-tickling account of my ferry adventure!

The Decision to Ferry, A Bridge to New Experiences:

Leaving behind the usual routes of Howrah Bridge and Vidyasagar Bridge, I embarked on a venture—a ferry ride! The cost-effective fare of just RS 6 to cross the river and reach Babughat made it funny. Little did I know that this decision would really lead me to a world of smiles and interactions!

Smiles & Happy Sailors:

As I stepped foot on the ferry, I couldn't help but notice the smiley faces of the crew running the show. And not only sailors but the lady selling tickets, the authorities checking them with flair on the footbridge, they all seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. Their infectious smiles added an extra layer of warmth to the journey, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Mesmerizing Views and Singing Migrants:

The view from the Howrah jetty was nothing short of mesmerizing, but it reached new heights as the vessel sailed towards the middle of the river. The panoramic scenery took my breath away, turning an ordinary commute into a picturesque adventure. And if that wasn't enough, the journey was accompanied by the soulful tunes of migrant workers from Gujarat, serenading us with their folk songs.

The Babughat Jetty and Public Gathering Site:

Upon reaching the Babughat jetty, I was greeted by a sight to behold. Not only was the jetty well-maintained and beautifully decorated, but it also served as a vibrant public gathering spot. Located next to the Eden Gardens railway station, the ambience was bustling with energy, the greenery and the wind from the river was so good to feel.

The Hectic Bus Adventure and the Irrelevance of Hassles:

Despite the long distance and the chaotic bus-catching endeavor, the wonderful ambiance of the surroundings made it all worthwhile. The positive vibes from the ferry journey continued to resonate, making any inconveniences seem trivial and insignificant. Sometimes, it's the overall experience that triumphs over small hiccups.

An Awesome Adventure for All:

In conclusion, my ferry adventure across the Hooghly River was nothing short of awesome. From the genuine smiles of the crew to the captivating views and the joyous folk singing, every moment added a touch of magic to the journey. I highly recommend this experience to everyone seeking a delightful and unconventional way to cross the river. So grab your ticket, embrace the smiles, and embark on an unforgettable ferry expedition!
